You May Soon Be Able to Leave Your Almost Criminal Past Behind

Does being arrested for a crime make you a criminal?  Not according to the US constitution.  Under the law you must first be convicted of a crime before the state can treat you like a criminal.  That is a constitutional guarantee.

Finding New Ways to Think about Saving Money

It gets frustrating, does it not, when your daily routine only takes you so far toward your financial goals?  I know that I feel like I could or should be doing more but lately I have struggled to think of other things I can do to save money (or make more money).  Surely I am doing exhausting all the possibilities.

Simple Advice about Health Supplements

These days, we all know that taking vitamins is a great way to begin living a healthy and illness-free quality of life. In the last 100 years vitamins were used with many different types of diets, although they were often less refined as well as they are these days. The vitamin supplements industry has become much more advanced and geared towards certain areas of the body as well as your general health and well-being.

How Much Should We Fear Investing in Binary Options?

I haven't yet heard about a "binary options bubble" but I have a friend who likes to dabble in the stock market.  He calls himself a "small investor" but his success has been up and down.  He has a couple of stories about how he bought some stocks on the cheap and sold his shares for 2-3 times what he paid for them but most of his money is tied up in mutual funds.

A Reading List of Blogs About Money

I am on a quest to find good blogs with great articles about how to save money, how to invest money, and even how to make money in unusual ways.  Here are a few of the sites that I have found so far that I really like.

Symmetry is so Very Important in All Things

I believe in symmetry, or balance.  For every Yin there should be a Yang.  If you're eating something salty you need something sweet.  If you eat something dry you should eat something most.

You Are Never Too Old to Learn to Cook

Like many people with a professional interest in food I watch food shows and have some of my favorites.  The show I have always enjoyed most was Alton Brown's "Good Eats".  Brown brings a scientific focus to the art of cuisine design.  He is also a very personal commentator for "Iron Chef America".  My wife introduced me to "Good Eats" many years ago.  I was intrigued to learn that Brown was in his 30s before he attended culinary school.  He moved to Vermont just so he could acquire a professional chef's skills as the first step in his career goal of developing a better cooking show.

Dining Advice for Daters and Dating for Diners

I was astounded to learn there is a dating site for people who want to eat with other people who enjoy their favorite restaurants.  It is called HiDine.com and is relatively new in the online dating site industry.  A friend of mine who is researching dating sites (I know that sounds fake) asked me if I had heard of HiDine and I had not.  I found a review of the HiDine dating service and was intrigued.

Natural Food Remedies for Common Health Problems

You should never substitute advice you find on the Internet for advice you get from your doctor or nutriionist, but you can always tell them about ideas you find online and ask for their opinions.  Managing your health is very important and eating a healthy diet is a first line of defense against illness and progressive or deteriorating health problems.  But did you know that many of our earliest medicines came from the foods that we eat today?

Sweet Things That are Good for You

Eating too much sugar is unhealthy.  We all agree upon that.  But sugary foods can also be good and wholesome parts of your diet.  The secret to eating sugary foods in a healthy lifestyle is to control your portions and add as little processed sugar to your food as possible.  Good chefs know that if you can add natural fruit to a recipe instead of sugar you're improving the quality of your food's nutritional value.

Saving Money with Food

As I look for ways to save money so that I can pay for health insurance some time later this year, I have been scanning blogs that publish financial tips.  One such blog advises that you get used to grocery store food.  I cannot imagine a more unpalatable way to save money.  It makes financial sense but not culinary sense.  Maybe I am just too accustomed to good food.  I rarely eat anything out of a can and I have to force myself to accept frozen food.

Pondering an Uncertain Financial Future

I don't have health insurance.  I have been visiting a local urgent care clinic that takes patients without insurance.  Their fees for visits and routine medical tests cost me about $600 a year.  As the Obamacare deadline approaches I am struggling to work out a budget where I can afford to pay for health insurance.  I make too much money to qualify for government assistance so I will have to pay full price for the insurance.
