It gets frustrating, does it not, when your daily routine only takes you so far toward your financial goals? I know that I feel like I could or should be doing more but lately I have struggled to think of other things I can do to save money (or make more money). Surely I am doing exhausting all the possibilities.
So I set myself the task of finding new ideas to try out on various Websites. I'm not saying that I believe these ideas will all work for me. I just want to try some new things to see what happens. That is all.
What caught my attention and led me to start thinking about this was an innovative article on how to save both time and money while using coupons. This is a pretty innovative article (and the rest of the site has some interesting ideas, too). I think it IS important to remember that time is money, even when you're "off the clock".
Another interesting article that caught my attention was this one about why retailers use coupons. I always assumed it was basic competition but I guess it's more complicated than that. It usually is, is it not? Coupons have become a major part of our economy and I doubt anyone has fully explored their impact.
I'm not ready to try something as radical as coupon arbitrage but that is also an intriguing concept. I mean, buying and selling things at the same time (basic arbitrage) is pretty challenging as it is. But using coupons to make money, that's tough. It's probably easier to make money with a wholesale club membership. That actually looks like something I could do.
If you're thinking about buying products online, like fresh fruit and fruit-based products, you may not be able to use coupons to get the best available prices. Specialty foods don't yet use coupons to build customer relationships but if you live near a major grocery store that sells the specialty foods you love then you may be able to use store discounts and coupons to get some price breaks.
Just reading these few articles has already given me some ideas I want to try out. And the wheels in my head are aturning. I may come up with some of my own ideas eventually. If I do I may share them here.
